I like the original one way more than the German cover. The butterfly looks so beautiful an peaceful, but if you take a closer look, you'll see the needles sticking out of its wings.
Title:
The title fits, because everybody sharing Diamonds situation would be scared.
Writing style:
I love her writing style. I just needed a few pages to get into the story and I've read it in a couple of hours. I think that says it all! The book is written in third person and from a couple points of view. Therefore it's not only the main conflict that needs to get solved but some other characters problems as well.
Characters:
Diamond is a cautious girl. She loves to dance and the corresponding performances. She is definitely not that kind of girl who gets into a strangers car. So how did this happen to her? She gets lured into a trap by a good-looking men and soon finds herself in a nightmare! Mercedes, her best friend, is worried to death and we can experience the police work through her eyes, because they question her about Diamonds disappearance. There are also Layla and Julius. They are in Diamonds dance team too and Layla has problems with her obsessing boyfriend. He wants her to quit dancing and threatens Julius who in secretly in love with her. It seems like everybody sees how mean her boyfriend is, except her. Julius wants to help her, bur he has to deal with his own problems. Being a teen dancer isn't the best way to become popular in high school. He gets bullied and accused to be gay.
Noteworthy:
This thriller is very realistic without giving you too many graphic details.
Stuck in my Head:
“She's, like, really, really beautiful, but I don't think she sees that when she looks in the mirror.”What I didn't like:
Nothing to complain!
Quick and dirty:
A realistic thriller with characters, you'll care about. I wasn't able to put it down anymore and got swept along by the book! Definitely worth a look!
